Hello everybody…
The weight of unfinished tasks is a crushing burden, often dripping with shame.😬
➡️ How often have you been called "lazy"?
➡️ How many times have you heard, "You could be anything you wanted to be if only you applied yourself"?
This is the narrative you've heard since childhood, echoing in the recesses of your mind every time you are faced with new tasks.
This is why we’re always:
➡️ Thinking about work
➡️ This is why we’re constantly “on” and feel guilty (or shame) about relaxing
We're waging a war against the shameful childhood demon of "laziness."
But this is BS.
The definition of laziness is inaction with not a single fuck given. Well, I’m paraphrasing the Cambridge Dictionary, but you know what I mean, right?
Yet, we find ourselves in a relentless inner battle over unfinished tasks and projects.
This is NOT laziness.
It’s a paradox.
The harder we try, the more the pressure tightens the noose of expectation, and the more we freeze.
A wise former client, a therapist, once told me—this is shame.
Our divergent brains freeze when cornered.
Ever found your mind completely blank when asked a question, even when you knew the answer?
Is this pressure? Or is this our shame — or both?
Leveraging Anxiety To Get Shit Done
Or perhaps you chose another path altogether?
Harnessing high-functioning anxiety to break through the barriers?
You made stuff happen.
You kicked down doors.
I’ve been there.
It works.
It's effective.
But it's a hollow victory, leaving us emotionally spent and burnt out.
Repeat this behaviour long enough, and we destroy our nervous system.
I’m going to show you a healthier way to leverage your dopamine to get shit done, which is much more fun!
But first, let's debunk why conventional wisdom fails us.
