The Core Values Quiz is the most engaging content I have ever published in this newsletter.
It’s human nature to unlock the secrets of ourselves.
To discover what makes us… (really) tick.
Most multipotentialites have an identity crisis.
I know I did.
We live in a society where what you do is who you are.
We know this because it’s the second question when meeting someone.
1) What is your name?
2) And what do you do?
That is a shameful question for many. Especially as we get older, everyone else seems to have their shit together.
But we are still bobbing about aimlessly in the seas of uncertainty.
Whether we like it or not, what we do greatly impacts our sense of self.
That is our social conditioning.
I felt lost and terrified when I left the music industry. I had spent 28 years of my life in it.
I fell into depression.
I mourned the loss of who I was. And lacked the vision of who I could become.
I watched my parents have a similar experience when they retired. It’s very common.
It was around this time I first learned my core values.
But, of course, I struggled with them because I had too many options.
Outside In
We are socially conditioned to look outside ourselves to feel better about ourselves inside.
Find your niche
Find your purpose
Find your Why
This makes no sense to me.
It is self-discovery. It is unlocking our true selves. Once we know who we are, we know what we should do.
This flips the neurotypical script.
If you feel lost, seeking the solution outside is not the answer.
I have written about the dual concepts of freedom and responsibility before.
French existentialist philosopher and fellow multipotentialite Simone de Beauvoir argued that freedom isn't just the absence of constraints; it's the act of consciously defining oneself.
This freedom comes with ethical responsibilities—to make choices that align with one's core values and consider their impact on the world.
Beauvoir's ideas create a mental framework for making sense of our diverse interests while being accountable for our choices.
She advocated for taking responsibility for how we show up in the world.
This is as important as the freedom to explore it.
As a general rule, overthinking is the biggest obstacle limiting our potential.
When faced with multiple options fuelled with FOMO, we are overwhelmed with the paradox of choice and get stuck in decision paralysis.
We have all experienced this scores of times.
Making choices and decisions aligned with our core values massively reduces the options available, allowing us to move forward and create a new path.
“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw

➡️ Purpose is not found externally.
✅ It is created within.
➡️ Our niche is not found externally.
✅ It is created within.
➡️ Our why is not found externally.
✅ It is created within.
What you do does not define who you are.
To do what you are supposed to do begins with discovering who you truly are.
And not the other way around!
👉 It’s a subtle mindset shift that will have a massive impact. 💪🧠👍

Hi, would just like to post I got 13C (3A, 1B, 2D, 1E) and I wouldn't send an e-mail because I could see the results myself in the next e-mail. Maybe it's why there's 0% e-mails from mostly C? I'd still hazard a guess there's a large amount of mostly C lurkers out there!
